Allergy Resources
Especially in the field of allergy, we have to be very careful about which resources we consult on the internet. There are many people, some of them even apparently well-qualified and will-intentioned physicians, who have views that are really not scientifically proven and tested. Our attitude here at Allergy/Immunology of the East Bay is that we want to be pretty sure of everything we recommend, and every path we follow. We are not on the fringe, we don’t think we have answers that nobody else in the world does. We are scientifically based, and if the truth be told, we are mainstream.
That being said, we can confidently recommend two general sources of allergy/immunology resources, from two different societies that sound alike:
American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology
The largest professional medical organization in the United States devoted to the advancement of the knowledge and practice of allergy, asthma and immunology for optimal patient care.
American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology
A professional association of 5,500 allergists/immunologists and allied health professionals dedicated to improving the quality of patient care in allergy and immunology through research, advocacy and professional and public education.
A third resource for reliable information is the American Academy of Pediatrics.
