Food Allergy
Food allergy is one of the more confusing and frustrating issues we deal with in allergy. While some patients have severe, immediate reactions to food (anaphylaxis), some others may have a delayed one, with worsening of their eczema, for example. Food allergies do not cause eczema, but they can certainly make eczema worse.
One of the most confusing and frustrating problems that we face in diagnosing food allergies is that the tests can be hard to interpret, and may even be contradictory. Patients need a guide through the food allergy maze, and that is our role. Generally we do get to a diagnosis, but sometimes it isn’t easy.
